Managing Director
Bruce E. Beverly, P.E., F. ASCE is the Managing Director of Beverly Management Consulting, LLC which was formed to assist leaders and managers of Architectural/Engineering/Consulting (A/E/C) firms with strategic planning, leadership and management issues, project management, succession planning, and governance matters associated with running an A/E/C business.

Prior to forming Beverly Management Consulting, LLC, Bruce Beverly was President and Chief Executive Officer, and Chair of the Board of Directors of Haley & Aldrich, Inc.  As he planned and so notified his Board of Directors in July 2005, he retired from active service at Haley & Aldrich in early May 2010.

Bruce was President and CEO of Haley & Aldrich, Inc. from November 2000 through February 2010.  He continually served on the Haley & Aldrich Board of Directors from December 1996 through February 2010.  Beginning in December 2004, Bruce was elected annually as Chair of the Haley & Aldrich Board of Directors.
During Bruce’s tenure as President/CEO, he led the company through three strategic planning cycles and the organizational structure and company cultural transformation from a geographic office structure to market- and client-focused organization.  This organization upon his departure was comprised of three business units that were focused on eight client-centered market segments.  Gross revenues grew from $59 MM to $100 MM and the internal trade value of the company stock grew from $133 per share to $221 per share, while producing an average income ROE for shareholders of 26 percent.  Under Bruce’s leadership, Haley & Aldrich, Inc. formed and operated two subsidiaries:  Haley & Aldrich Design & Construction, Inc. which expanded company capabilities into turnkey design and construction, and Tamarack Energy, Inc. which was a new venture start-up into renewable energy development. During 2008 and 2009, Haley & Aldrich also developed, self-financed, and occupied its own “green” office building in Tucson, Arizona.  In 2007, Bruce was a finalist in the New England region annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition.

Bruce Beverly spent his prior professional career entirely with Haley & Aldrich spanning over 34 years, holding numerous project and operational management positions from entry level geotechnical engineer through President and CEO.    He is a registered professional civil engineer in Massachusetts and Michigan and a Fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers.

From April 2003 through April 2005, Bruce was twice elected to one-year terms as an outside director on the Board of Directors of a Bellevue, Washington-headquartered environmental and transportation professional services firm.  In his second term, he served as Chair of that company’s Board of Directors.  Following his second term as an outside director, he declined to stand for re-election due to time commitment considerations.

Bruce holds BS and MS degrees in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), received a certificate in Management Development from WPI in 1999, graduated from the ACEC Senior Executive Institute’s leadership development program in April of 2001, and holds a current Certificate of Director Education from the National Association of Corporate Directors Institute which qualifies him to serve as an independent director of a publicly-traded corporation.

During Bruce’s career he has been active at his alma mater, WPI, and in professional organizations including ASCE, BSCES/ASCE and ACEC/Massachusetts.  He has served on various ACEC/MA committees and its Board of Directors for seven years from June 2002 through June 2009.  Bruce has also served on the WPI Civil and Environmental Engineering Department Advisory Board from 1998 through the present.
